The Sea of SUVs is Crowded, But the Ford EcoSport Stands Out Among the Competition

At Jannell Ford of Hanover, we know that you have many options to consider when shopping for a small SUV in the greater Weymouth and Brockton area. But no other brand compares to the legendary quality and reliability that comes standard with every Ford SUV available at our Washington Street dealership. Take the Ford EcoSport, for example. It's an impeccably crafted, well-designed SUV, and it's waiting for you today in our showroom.

While the four-door, five-passenger EcoSport has a lot to offer commuters in the Marshfield and Plymouth, MA area, there are most likely other, similarly sized models competing for your attention as well. To illustrate the many reasons why our Ford model is the best choice, here's a little side-by-side comparison, pitting the EcoSport against two different crossovers. Read on to learn more and contact us to meet the EcoSport in person for a test drive.

The Ford EcoSport vs. the Toyota Corolla Cross

More standard and optional features. Like other world-class models in the Ford lineup, the EcoSport SUV comes with a comprehensive list of the features and amenities that Massachusetts drivers want. In fact, it comes with more standard and optional amenities than many competing options, including the Toyota Corolla Cross. For example, our Ford model gets standard 4G LTE and Wi-Fi hotspot, while these are not standard for the Toyota. Additionally, you can get a sunroof on your EcoSport as soon as the second trim level, while this amenity isn't available on the Corolla Cross.

Like the EcoSport, the Corolla Cross is a subcompact SUV with seating for five in two rows. On the surface, it seems as though these two would have a lot in common, but when we dove in, we discovered a few areas where our Ford model came out ahead, such as:

  • Greater interior space and comfort. In a lot of ways, the Toyota Corolla Cross is larger than the Ford EcoSport. The Toyota model has a higher ground clearance, and it measures both longer and wider than our SUV. But the Ford maximizes its interior far better than the Toyota, offering a ride that's spacious and comfortable, whether you're sitting in the front seat or the backseat. You can expect more headroom, shoulder room, and legroom in the Ford than the Toyota, especially in the backseat, where the EcoSport offers nearly five inches more legroom than the competition.

The Ford EcoSport vs. the Nissan Kicks

Once again, looking at the Ford EcoSport next to the Nissan Kicks, it appears that they have much in common. Both are the smallest crossover models in their respective lineups, and both seat five in a four-door design. But the Ford has a few extra touches that set it apart, including:

  • Available all-wheel drive. While the Nissan Kicks has many similarities to other small SUV models, including an elevated ground clearance that places it higher than traditional sedan styles, it's lacking the one key feature that attracts drivers to the SUV genre in the first place – all-wheel drive. Regardless of which trim you choose or how you personalize the Kicks, you won't be able to get all-wheel drive on it. But you can on the Ford EcoSport, where AWD is widely available in the lineup.
  • More power and output. Ford toughness and performance are built into every EcoSport crossover, which comes powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and produces 166 horsepower with 149 pound-feet of torque. Ford is renowned for the high level of power their models produce, and the Nissan Kicks can't compete. It gets its power from a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and produces just 122 horsepower with 114 pound-feet of torque.
