The Base trim level now comes standard with tri-zone automatic climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, cloth-trimmed seats, a power liftgate, a power adjustable driver's seat, a 50/50 split folding second-row bench seat, and a 6-speaker audio system. The Base trim also comes outfitted with a suite of driver assistance features.

Performance

The Ford Explorer offers up a total of three engines, with the base engine being a bold 2.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. There's also a hybrid 3.3-liter V6 engine that makes 318 horsepower and 322 pound-feet of torque. The most powerful engine available with the Ford Explorer is a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that makes 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard while all-wheel drive is an optional upgrade. The Timberline trim of the Ford Explorer offers Hanover drivers a host of additional performance features, like all-wheel drive limited slip rear differential, an off-road suspension with increased ground clearance, and underbody skidplates.

Technology
